500 Strips

Holy cow, it’s here. Today is the 500th Drunk Elephant strip.

I’ve been so busy at school that this milestone crept up on me. I’ve done so much over the last 9 months, including work on some outside comic projects that will be announced shortly. I am thrilled, however, that I’ve been able to keep this comic going through all of it though, and I’m equally thrilled that you all have stuck with me.

I’ve been thinking a great deal about when would be a good time to end this strip (I’ve had the ending thought out since the very first strip), and 500 strips is a natural time to start to think about it. Drunk Elephant has always been an exercise in improv for me; I usually create each strip the night before and don’t work with a buffer. At the same time, I am also wary of overstaying my welcome with these characters, and don’t want you all to slowly drift away from the strip but to go out on a high note.

In September of this year, the strip will have been running for 4 years. I have a ton of other webcomic ideas I’d like to share with you all in the future, so I’d love to hear your thoughts about this strip. Leave a comment, shoot me an email (this seems to be what most people prefer), but I’d love to hear from the fans. Again, I can’t stress enough how great you have all been, and I value your input.

Thanks for reading!

I have to say, I love this strip and I’d be sad to see it end, but as long as you kept doing something regularly I’d be happy to follow that. Especially if said New Thing is “The Adventures of Loan-Bot In The Nth Dimension”

Agree with Jason, I love Hank, and dig the larger idea of a Mythological universe that is running right alongside the rest of the world… would hate to see this story end… but you keep putting things out and I’ll keep reading.
