Negus

  • 1 Lemon
  • Sugar cubes
  • Spring water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Grated nutmeg
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 750-ml. bottle of Wine (drinker’s choice)

Peel lemon with sugar cubes and place in a pitcher with boiling water along with the rest of the sugar cubes. After sugar dissolves add wine and more boiling water if necessary. Serves about 10.
